Our Network
Network is at the heart of everything we do at Red Anvil, so we designed our network to be highly-reliable, secure and fast!
Red Anvil's core routing utilizes carrier-grade Juniper M-Series routers running VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to provide automatic failover redundancy at the router level. We use carrier-grade Foundry switches and, where possible, use pathway ring topologies to lessen the chance of the failure of any single piece of equipment impacting client systems.
Red Anvil’s Internet Service is much more than wholesaled Internet from upstream providers. Red Anvil has its own Autonomous System Number (ASN 33693) and we own our own IP address space. We have multiple upstream providers whom we buy transit to the Internet from. This allows our network routing to be flexible and responsive to problems occurring on the Internet or within the network of one of our upstream transit providers.
The core of our network is secured in the Burnham Data Center. Two upstream providers are built into this facility via fiber. We also light our own diverse-path fiber ring which connects the Burnham Data Center to the carrier hotel in downtown Milwaukee where we meet other national and local providers.
